Description
The Gaui Hurricane EP 255 is an electric RC helicopter designed and produced by TSH Gaui Hobby Corporation of Taiwan.
Building on the success of their Hurricane EP-200 heli series, TSH Gaui released the Gaui Hurricane EP 255 around 2009-2010.
The 255 was designed to be the perfect mix of power to weight in a 200-class helicopter. With 255mm main blades and slightly larger overall dimensions the Hurricane EP 255 is physically larger than its smaller 200 sibling. The Gaui EP 255 has more power coupled with a larger main rotor diameter giving it a lower disc loading and a "floatier" and "bigger heli" feel than the EP200.
The Hurricane EP 255 has a pod-and-boom design with a four-piece carbon fiber frame-set and an aluminum tail boom with belt drive system. The head and tail components are all anodized aluminum and the main rotor head can be configured in a flybar or flybarless configuration.
The standard Hurricane EP 255 power system consists of an 11.1V 3S 900mAh LiPo battery feeding power to an 18 Amp ESC and 3400 Kv electric brushless outrunner motor. The Hurricane 255's 255mm main blades yield an overall main rotor diameter of 550mm with an overall length of 488mm and a flying weight of 360-380 grams.
Hurricane EP-255 parts and kits can be purchased through TSH Gaui Hobby Corporation's large network of local and online retail distributors.
