Rail Blades is a brand of carbon fiber helicopter blades for the RC heli market place. The brand is owned and managed by Botos Design & Distribution, Inc. of the USA.
Rail Blades are new to the market and as of June 2011. The product line is small consisting of a 606mm flybarless version followed by a 606mm version for flybar helis with a release date to follow shortly after the flybarless ones. Both sets have undergone testing on electric and nitro 600-class helis. Also in progress is a 696mm main rotor blade as well as 96mm and 106mm tail blades.
According to the brand's website (www.railblades.com), the blades were "designed to meet the needs of today's flybarless control systems". In the design process, the engineers placed particular effort on creating an airfoil that maintains low drag and high lift. In addition, designers spent a great deal of effort on designing a blade tip that maintained higher efficiencies than what is common in the industry.
Botos Design & Distribution appears to still have their dealer network in the development stage, but the brand's website implies that the blades will be available at the common online heli stores.
