Description

The Stingray by Curtis Youngblood (aka Next-D) is a collective pitch RC quadcopter and one of the first of its kind to be marketed to the RC hobby industry.

The first release of the Stingray, dubbed the Stingray 500, has a 490mm motor-shaft-to-motor-shaft dimension, thus the "500" designation.

Manufacturers Comments:

Full collective pitch 3D quadcopter allows for flight in forward, backward, sideways directions, and maneuvers such as but not limited to loops, rolls, etc.. What does this mean for a quad? Fully aerobatic FPV, for one, and general sport/competition flying previously not possible in sustained maneuvers on multi-rotor machines.

3D Flying Tested On Model - Tic-toc, Pirouetting Aerobatics, Kaos, Hurricane, Funnel, etc…

The Stingray 500 is powered by a 4s 2600mAh Lipo battery and uses symeterical tail blades from larger sized RC helicopters for flight.

The product is expected to become available for purchase in the summer of 2013.
