Trex 450 Pro

Brand: Align
Manufacturer: Align Corporation

Description

Like its fraternal twin, the Trex 450 Sport by Align Corporation, the Trex 450 Pro fits into the 400/450-class remote control helicopter market.  Though the size class is the same, the similarities pretty much stop there.  The 450 Pro is designed to live and thrive in the all-out 3D flight envelope.  With a stock 3,700 Kv motor, a torque tube tail, and a 520 tail servo, the Trex 450 Pro is setup to handle anything that a pilot can throw at it.

Considered to be the actual version 3 "V3" of Align's campaign in the 450 size market, the 450 Pro was a redesign from the ground up.  Some of the vast array of V3/Pro design innovations include:

  • Two-piece carbon fiber frame design
  • Redesigned one-piece landing gear
  • Torque tube tail
  • All new tail box and linkage assembly
  • Battery mount integrated right into the frame (not a separate component as in the past)
  • All new head design
  • New servo mounting arrangement
  • New canopy design

Variations

As with the 450 Sport the Trex 450 Pro comes in a Kit and a Super Combo version.  The kit version includes a partially assembled airframe (head assembly, main frame, and tail assembly), canopy, a set of carbon fiber blades, a 3700 Kv brushless outrunner motor, a 35 Amp ESC with built in BEC, and the necessary tools to help get the remainder of the build underway.  The Super Combo includes everything that the Kit version comes with plus three DS410 metal gear cyclic servos, a DS520 tail servo (same one found on the Trex 500) and an Align GP780 tail gyro.

Replacement Parts

Replacing parts on a Trex 450 Pro is about as easy as it gets in the remote control hobby.  The parts are carried at a vast array of online hobby shops as well as local hobby shops all over the world.  The head and tail assemblies are made up of mostly metal parts which are more expensive than plastic, but the prices of replacement parts are generally inexpensive.  Additionally, because the 400/450 class is one of the most popular RC helicopter classes, there is often a huge selection of third-party, aftermarket parts to choose from.
