Trex 500 ESP
| Brand: | Align |
| Manufacturer: | Align Corporation |
Description
The Trex 500 ESP is the latest in the evolution of Align Corporation's 500-size Trex RC helicopters. New to the 500 with the ESP edition is a standard torque tube tail design. Previous versions, the 500 CF (carbon fiber) and 500 GF (glass fiber) came with a belt driven tail system. The tail is the biggest change to the helicopter, however other upgrades/changes include a different canopy and more metal parts.
The overall design of the 500 ESP is pod-and-boom with a two-piece carbon fiber main frame and an aluminum tail. The head is an all-metal design using mostly aluminum and featuring direct-to-swash servo linkages. It is available in a FB (flybared) or FBL (flybarless) configuration. Like the head, the tail is also a mostly aluminum design featuring an all aluminum case, tail pitch actuator, and blade grips.
The Trex 500 ESP ships with a 500M, 1600Kv, brushless outrunner motor and 60 Amp speed controller and is designed to use 425mm main blades and a 2100-2500 6S lipo battery. The dimensions of the finished helicopter is a 970mm main rotor diameter, a length of 840mm, and an overall flying weight of approximately 1700 grams.
