Trex 700 Electric

Brand: Align
Manufacturer: Align Corporation

Description

The Trex 700E helicopter was an all new Align Corporation design as of 2010.  In the design of the 700E Align built on their previous large helicopter experience gained in designing and building 700 Nitro helicopters in years previous.  The resulting "E" model was a nearly complete overhaul of the Align Trex 700-size heli design.

The 700E features a pod-and-boom configuration with a two-piece carbon fiber frame-set, a carbon fiber tail boom and tail assembly, a nicely built and painted fiber glass canopy, and landing skids that are shared with the 700E's smaller siblings, the Trex 550E and Trex 600.  The tail drive system is a torque tube design like that of the 550, 500, 450, and others.  Aluminum main bearing blocks are standard as is Align's 470Kv 700MX motor, a 120 Amp Castle Creations Phoenix Ice ESC, and an Align BEC.  Standard recommended main blades are in the 690mm range and a pair of Align carbon fiber blades ship with each kit.

All of the 700E kits that include electronics consist of three Align DS610 servos for cyclic/collective control, a single Align DS650 servo for the tail and an Align GP780 single-axis gryo or Align 3G 3-axis gyro system. Cyclic control is done via a push-pull linkage setup on all three cyclic servos and all linkage rods are carbon fiber and aluminum combinations.

Power is provided to the Trex 700E from a 12 li-po battery cells (2 x 6S @ 4500-5200mAh) which must be purchased separately.  The overall dimensions of a completed kit are: 1562mm main blade diameter, a 1328mm overall length, and a flying weight of approximately 4700 grams.
